The 80th Saudi relief plane to support Gaza arrives via El Arish Airport

Today, the 80th Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, arrived at Al-Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in continuous coordination with the Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo, in preparation for transferring its cargo to those affected inside the Gaza Strip.

The aircraft carried a shipment of diverse aid, including complete food baskets and shelter kits, in response to the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people under the current circumstances. This flight is part of the popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister.

Context of ongoing Saudi support

This support is not a one-off event, but rather a link in a long chain of historical stances taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Palestinian cause. Since the outbreak of the latest crisis, the Kingdom has swiftly launched a massive air and sea bridge to transport thousands of tons of medical, food, and shelter aid, in addition to ambulances and heavy equipment for debris removal, in order to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian catastrophe that has befallen the Gaza Strip.

The importance of aid at the current time

This aid is of paramount importance given the deteriorating living conditions in Gaza, where residents are suffering from severe shortages of food, medicine, and shelter, especially with the ongoing displacement and destruction of infrastructure. The Saudi aid, which includes essential supplies, is helping to bridge a significant gap in the daily needs of Palestinian families, contributing to their resilience and averting the threat of famine and disease.

Regional and international coordination

These efforts reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in humanitarian work, both regionally and internationally. Aid is being delivered in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent for entry into the Palestinian territories via the Rafah border crossing. This initiative underscores the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with the Palestinian people in times of hardship and crisis, stemming from the bonds of brotherhood, faith, and Arab identity that unite the two nations.
