Two million pilgrims benefit from the free Hajj rituals service at the Grand Mosque

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques announced a new record in its services provided to pilgrims, with more than two million Umrah pilgrims benefiting from the free "release from Ihram" service within the Grand Mosque. This high-quality service operates around the clock as an essential part of the integrated services system aimed at facilitating the performance of rituals during the current Umrah season.

Service details and its strategic location

The authority explained that the service is available to both men and women at a strategic location in the eastern courtyard of the Grand Mosque, making it easily accessible immediately after completing the Sa'i (ritual walking between Safa and Marwa). Highly qualified and trained personnel oversee the service to ensure efficiency and manage crowd flow, directly contributing to facilitating the completion of Umrah rituals with ease and peace of mind for pilgrims, and preventing overcrowding in the areas surrounding the Grand Mosque.

Strict health standards to ensure visitor safety

In its commitment to public health, the authority emphasized that the pilgrimage rites (tahlil) service adhere to the highest internationally recognized standards of sterilization and hygiene. Single-use shaving tools and sterilized implements are used for each pilgrim, along with strict health procedures to prevent the spread of infection. This represents a significant leap forward compared to the past, ensuring the elimination of unsanitary practices and providing a safe and healthy environment for pilgrims, reflecting the substantial advancements in logistical and health services offered at the Two Holy Mosques.

The religious and organizational importance of the service

The "removal" (shaving or shortening of the hair) is the final ritual of Umrah, by which the pilgrim is released from the state of Ihram and is freed from what was previously forbidden. Providing this service within the Haram courtyards saves pilgrims considerable time and effort, as they previously had to search for barbershops outside the central area, which can be extremely crowded during peak times. Offering this service free of charge relieves pilgrims of financial burdens and ensures they can complete their rituals according to the Sunnah in a clean and safe environment.

Service in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This initiative stems from the wise leadership's commitment to continuously improving the services provided at the Two Holy Mosques. It directly contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , specifically the "Serving the Guests of God" program, which aims to enhance the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers, facilitate their spiritual journey, and provide a safe and comprehensive environment for worship that reflects the Kingdom's utmost care for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors from all corners of the earth.
