The Oasis Park in Al-Ulya village was opened to enhance the quality of life

In a pioneering step towards achieving sustainable development, the municipality of Qaryat Al-Ulya Governorate in the Eastern Province announced the completion of the Oasis Park project in Qaryat Al-Ulya, representing a significant addition to the governorate's public facilities. This development project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life and provide a comprehensive and healthy environment for both residents and visitors, in line with national strategic objectives.
Details of the Oasis Park project in Al-Ulya village and its engineering dimensions
The Oasis Park project in Al-Ulya village spans a total area exceeding 11,000 square meters, specifically 11,200 square meters, making it a vibrant and comprehensive recreational space for the area's residents. The municipality has ensured the allocation of extensive green spaces, totaling 6,707 square meters, reflecting a strong commitment to increasing vegetation cover. The project's engineering also included the construction of high-quality, integrated sidewalks covering 3,734 square meters, which directly contributes to improved usability and facilitates easy and convenient movement for visitors within the park.

In complete alignment with the Saudi Green Initiative and the Quality of Life Program
This achievement cannot be viewed in isolation from the broader context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing development. The project is closely linked to the objectives of Vision 2030, specifically the Quality of Life Program, which aims to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families and build a society where its members enjoy a balanced way of life. This local achievement also aligns with the Saudi Green Initiative, launched by the wise leadership to increase reliance on clean energy, reduce carbon emissions, and protect the environment. Transforming unused spaces into green oases reflects a firm commitment to achieving sustainable environmental development, the positive effects of which will be felt both locally and regionally.
Sports and service facilities that promote public health
To ensure a comprehensive visitor experience, the park has been equipped with a range of sports and service facilities catering to different age groups. These facilities include a fully equipped 600-square-meter football pitch, encouraging youth and children to participate in sports and adopt healthy habits. For easy access, 20 parking spaces have been provided, along with modern public restrooms. To enhance public safety, 500 meters of safe and comfortable pedestrian walkways have been constructed, supported by 20 modern lighting poles strategically placed to illuminate the entire park, allowing families to enjoy safe walks even in the evenings.

Environmental and aesthetic impact of the project on the area
The environmental and aesthetic aspects were given considerable attention in the design and implementation of the park. The site features 119 trees, 660 shrubs, and 1,200 diverse flowers. This plant diversity not only adds a stunning aesthetic touch but also plays a pivotal role in improving air quality, reducing ambient temperatures, and providing an attractive natural environment, thus enhancing the biodiversity of the governorate. Such projects have a profound positive impact on the mental and physical health of the residents and create spaces for constructive social interaction within the community.
Ongoing efforts towards sustainable and inclusive development
In a related context, the Mayor of Qaryat Al-Ulya Governorate, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, affirmed that this development project is an extension of ongoing field efforts to improve public parks and gardens. Dr. Al-Ghamdi pointed to the paramount importance of preparing these vital facilities to serve as vibrant recreational spaces capable of meeting the needs of the governorate's residents and visitors. He emphasized the continued, dedicated work to implement similar high-quality projects that contribute to improving the quality of life and achieving the goals of comprehensive sustainable development.
