Royal decrees: Fahd Al-Saif for Investment and new appointments in the regions

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a series of royal decrees today, including significant ministerial changes and leadership appointments in several regional emirates and the Diriyah Governorate, as well as modifications to senior positions in the Ministry of Interior and the Shura Council. These decisions come as part of the ongoing efforts to develop the administrative system and inject new energy into key government positions, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

A new era for the Ministry of Investment

In a move reflecting the significant attention given to investment as a cornerstone of economic diversification, royal decrees relieved His Excellency Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih of his position as Minister of Investment and appointed him Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, thus keeping his extensive experience close to the decision-making circle. In his place, Mr. Fahd bin Abduljalil bin Ali Al-Saif was appointed Minister of Investment. This appointment carries significant economic implications, given the pivotal role the ministry plays in attracting foreign capital and enhancing the investment environment in the Kingdom—a file that is the driving force behind major projects.

Strengthening leadership in the emirates of the regions

The royal decrees included strengthening administrative leadership in a number of regions of the Kingdom, which reflects the leadership's keenness to advance regional development:

  • Madinah Region: His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud Al Saud has been appointed Deputy Governor of the region with the rank of Excellent, after being relieved of his position as Governor of Taif.
  • Northern Borders Region: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has been appointed Deputy Governor of the region with the rank of Excellent.
  • Al-Baha region: His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud has been appointed Deputy Governor of the region with the rank of Excellent, after being relieved of his position as Governor of Diriyah.

Diriyah... the historical jewel of the Kingdom

Given the strategic and historical importance of Diriyah as the birthplace of the first Saudi state and a global heritage destination, a royal decree was issued appointing His Royal Highness Prince Rakan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Governor of Diriyah with the rank of Minister. This appointment will further enhance the province's standing, which is currently undergoing massive development projects aimed at transforming it into a global cultural and tourist hub.

Changes in the Interior, Tourism, and Shura Council sectors

The decisions also included important organizational and advisory aspects, as Her Highness Princess Haifa bint Mohammed bin Saud bin Khalid Al Abdulrahman Al Saud was relieved of her position as Deputy Minister of Tourism and appointed as an advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers at the Excellent Rank, to benefit from her expertise in supporting the work of the Council.

The orders also included relieving His Highness Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mishari Al Saud of his position as Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, and appointing him as an advisor to the Minister of Interior with the rank of Excellent, in addition to appointing His Highness Prince Dr. Saad bin Saud bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as a member of the Shura Council.

These royal decrees affirm the wise leadership’s commitment to selecting qualified national talents to lead the next phase, and to enhancing government performance in various vital sectors to serve the nation and its citizens.
