Meteorology warns of rain and flash floods in Jazan and Al-Ahsa, and fog in the north

The National Center for Meteorology issued a series of advanced weather alerts on Tuesday regarding the weather conditions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, indicating that several regions are exposed to weather fluctuations ranging from moderate to heavy rain, active winds, and the formation of dense fog, as part of its continuous monitoring of the latest developments in the climate conditions affecting the Kingdom's atmosphere.
Details of the rainfall situation in the Jazan region
In the southern region, the center warned of moderate rainfall in the Jazan area, accompanied by severe weather phenomena including high-speed winds that could lead to near-zero horizontal visibility, in addition to hail, flash floods, and high waves along the coast. This weather pattern includes the city of Jazan and several governorates, including: Ahad Al Masarihah, Abu Arish, Al Tuwal, Samtah, Damad, Sabya, Baysh, Al Darb, Al Harth, Al Dayer, Al Aridhah, Al Aydabi, Fayfa, Harub, Al Reeth, Farasan Island, and Al Fatihah Center. The center indicated that this weather pattern will continue, God willing, until 8:00 PM.
The Jazan region is characterized by a diverse geographical and topographical nature that combines coasts and towering mountains, making it prone to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds and heavy rainfall, especially during transitional periods and rainy seasons, as the mountains play a major role in intensifying the clouds coming from the Red Sea.
Beneficial rains cover Al-Ahsa and the northern borders
In the Eastern Province, Al-Ahsa Governorate and its surrounding towns and villages experienced moderate to heavy rainfall this morning. The sky remains overcast with a chance of further rain. The region welcomes this rainfall, which will contribute to irrigating the Al-Ahsa agricultural oasis, the largest palm oasis in the world, thus replenishing groundwater reserves and supporting the vital agricultural sector in the governorate.
Simultaneously, moderate rain fell on the governorate of Tarif and its suburbs in the Northern Borders region. May God make it a blessed and beneficial rain, and may its benefits extend throughout the country.
Fog and winter in Arar
Meanwhile, the city of Arar in the Northern Borders region experienced dense fog this morning, covering most of the city, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperature. This phenomenon is part of the climatic changes associated with winter in the northern regions of the Kingdom, which are affected by cold air masses that lead to fog formation.
The relevant authorities are calling on drivers to exercise caution while driving in such foggy conditions that limit horizontal visibility, and to adhere to traffic safety instructions to ensure everyone's safety.
