A lifeline amid the Yemeni humanitarian crisis
These ongoing medical efforts come at a time when Yemen's health sector is suffering a severe decline due to years of conflict, which has rendered more than half of its health facilities inoperable. The coastal areas of Hodeidah Governorate, including Al-Khawkhah District, are among the most affected and in dire need of urgent medical intervention due to high rates of internal displacement and the spread of seasonal diseases and epidemics.
These mobile clinics serve as a true lifeline for displaced families and host communities lacking the most basic healthcare, providing them with free medical services without the hardship of travel and the exorbitant costs of treatment in major cities.
The humanitarian impact of mobile clinics in Al-Khokha
project in Al-Khawkhah directly contributes to achieving health security and reducing mortality rates from common diseases and acute malnutrition among children and mothers. Regionally and internationally, this project highlights the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, in spearheading humanitarian efforts and providing effective and sustainable support to the brotherly Yemeni people, in line with the United Nations' humanitarian response plans in Yemen.
