The Ministry of Education establishes an Artificial Intelligence Department to support digital transformation

In a significant step reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to keeping pace with global technological advancements, the Ministry of Education a specialized Artificial Intelligence Department within its new organizational structure. This update was included in the revised version of the organizational guide, "Guide to Objectives and Tasks," issued in Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH, underscoring the Ministry's determination to accelerate digital transformation and integrate emerging technologies into the core of the educational process.
In line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the National Data Strategy
This decision is not isolated from the general direction of the state, but rather directly contributes to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 , which prioritizes digital transformation and innovation. This step complements the National Strategy for Data and Artificial Intelligence, led by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), which aims to make the Kingdom a global hub in this field. Establishing an AI department within the Ministry of Education signifies a shift from using technology as a support tool to relying on it as a strategic partner in educational decision-making.
New management goals: From data analysis to decision-making
According to the organizational manual, the creation of this department is part of a comprehensive development framework aimed at:
