Saudi Arabia condemns the Iranian attack on Oman and affirms its full solidarity

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the Iranian aggression against the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, describing it as a blatant violation of state sovereignty and a clear breach of international conventions and norms. This firm stance underscores the deep fraternal ties and shared destiny that unite Riyadh and Muscat in confronting regional challenges.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement emphasizing that the Kingdom is following developments in this attack with grave concern, affirming its full support and solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman in all measures it takes to protect its territory and the security of its citizens. The Ministry indicated that this dangerous escalation threatens security and stability in the entire region and necessitates a serious response from the international community.
Gulf security is indivisible
The Saudi position stems from the Kingdom's firmly established foreign policy principles, which consider the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states to be indivisible, and any infringement upon the sovereignty of any member state to be a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom and the Gulf system as a whole. This vision is based on a long history of joint cooperation and defense and security agreements aimed at safeguarding the Gulf region against any external ambitions or attempts to destabilize it.
In this context, the Kingdom reiterated its warning about the consequences of the Iranian regime's continued hostile policies and violations of the sovereignty of neighboring countries, noting that such actions undermine de-escalation efforts and push the region toward the unknown. Riyadh affirmed its commitment to providing all possible support to its brothers in Oman, reflecting the strength of the strategic relationship that has been significantly enhanced in recent years through the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council.
Calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities
The Kingdom did not limit itself to regional condemnation, but also issued a clear call to the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security. Saudi Arabia demanded decisive and deterrent measures against Iran's repeated violations, to ensure respect for the sovereignty of states and the protection of vital waterways that pass through the region, which constitute a major artery for the global economy and energy supplies.
This attack not only represents a challenge to the Sultanate of Oman, but also constitutes a direct threat to the rules of international law and the principles of good neighborliness that the Kingdom and the Gulf States have long advocated, which calls for international cooperation to put an end to these transgressions and ensure the stability of the Middle East region.
