Medina weather: Active winds, dust, and weather alerts today

The National Center for Meteorology issued an important warning regarding the expected weather conditions on Wednesday, indicating that the Madinah region and its governorates will be affected by a noticeable increase in surface winds and dust storms, which calls for caution and vigilance on the part of citizens, residents and highway users.
Weather details in Medina
The National Center for Meteorology's report indicated that the weather conditions include active winds with speeds reaching between 40 and 49 kilometers per hour. The impact of these winds will be concentrated on Medina and the governorates of Al-Ula, Al-Ais, and Khaybar . These winds are expected to reduce horizontal visibility, requiring extra caution while driving.
In a related development, the center issued another warning regarding blowing dust that will reduce visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers, affecting the governorates of Al-Hanakiya, Al-Mahd, Badr, and Wadi Al-Fara . The center specified that the dust storm would begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 6:00 PM.
Expected environmental and traffic impacts
These warnings are particularly important given the Kingdom's geography, where strong winds play a significant role in stirring up dust and sand, especially in open areas and on highways connecting the provinces. These weather fluctuations are typical of the region's climate at this time of year, as the interaction of cold and warm air masses creates atmospheric instability.
Experts always advise that in such weather conditions, public safety guidelines should be followed, speeding on highways should be avoided due to the possibility of sudden loss of visibility, and precautions should be taken for respiratory and asthma patients to avoid dust complications.
Weather conditions in the rest of the Kingdom
The weather report was not limited to Medina only, but included forecasts for several other regions, where cold to very cold weather is expected to prevail in the northern and northwestern regions, specifically in Tabuk, Al-Jawf, Hail, and the Northern Borders , with chances of frost forming in the early morning hours, reflecting a cold wave affecting the northern part of the Kingdom.
The report also indicated a continued drop in temperatures accompanied by active, dust-raising winds in parts of the Qassim, Riyadh, Eastern, and Najran . This weather pattern extends to the eastern parts of the southwestern highlands, as well as parts of the Makkah region. Meanwhile, there remains a chance of light rain and dense fog in parts of the Jazan and Asir highlands, contributing to a wide range of weather conditions across the Kingdom today.
