McDonald's Saudi Arabia supports children with Down syndrome with its 2026 campaign

In a move reflecting its unwavering commitment to social responsibility, McDonald's Saudi Arabia the launch of its major annual charity campaign for 2026, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. This humanitarian initiative aims to support and empower 265 children with Down syndrome, under the inspiring slogan "Your Support Completes Their Story," reinforcing the values ​​of social solidarity during this blessed month.

Strategic partnerships to serve the community

This year’s campaign is distinguished by its close collaboration with three of the Kingdom’s leading specialized charities: the Voice of Down Syndrome Association, the DSCA Charitable Association, and the Efaa Association for the Care of People with Disabilities. This partnership aims to fund six specialized and carefully designed rehabilitation programs to develop children’s skills and enhance their independence, paving the way for their effective integration into Saudi society.

The importance of rehabilitation programs and their sustainable impact

This campaign is particularly important given the nature of the programs it funds, which go beyond mere financial support to focus on the sustainable development of children's abilities. Through the "Diska" Association, 60 children will be supported through programs that enhance their language and functional skills, a cornerstone of effective communication. The collaboration with the "Sawt" Association targets 143 children to strengthen their self-help, reading, and writing skills, while the "Efaa" Association's programs focus on developing the cognitive and skill-based abilities of 59 children.

Experts emphasize that such early interventions and rehabilitation programs play a pivotal role in improving the quality of life of children with Down syndrome, enabling them to become self-reliant in the future, which aligns with the national goals for empowering people with disabilities in the Kingdom.

Community support and participation mechanism

The campaign employs an innovative fundraising mechanism that combines education and philanthropy, aiming to sell 200,000 educational stories at a nominal price of 10 riyals each. All proceeds from these sales will go towards supporting the aforementioned programs, which will be implemented between September 2026 and June 2027. McDonald's Saudi Arabia has also provided an additional contribution option: redeeming loyalty points on its official app to benefit the charities.

This initiative falls under the umbrella of the "From You and For You" social responsibility platform, which has always been a bridge for goodness and giving, calling on all members of society to contribute to writing a new chapter of hope and success in the lives of these children.
