Mawhiba: Deadline for registration in the National Program for Identifying Gifted Individuals

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” has launched an important appeal to male and female students and parents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announcing the start of the countdown to the closing of registration for the “National Program for Discovering the Gifted,” as there are only 20 days left until the end of the specified period, which will coincide with December 23.

The gateway to the future

The National Program for Gifted Student Identification, implemented by Mawhiba in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (represented by the National Center for Assessment), is the Kingdom's primary gateway for discovering and nurturing young talent. Since its launch over a decade ago, the program has formed the cornerstone of the national talent and creativity system, contributing to supplying international and local universities with a select group of Saudi minds who have achieved remarkable accomplishments on the global stage.

The importance of this program comes in the context of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, specifically within the Human Capability Development Program, which seeks to invest in human capital through standardized scientific tools aimed at sorting and classifying students based on their latent mental and creative abilities, and not based solely on their traditional academic achievement.

The mechanism of the scale and its objectives

The Mawhiba Foundation emphasized that the assessment used in the program is not an academic test based on memorization, nor a competitive contest with a win-lose mentality. Rather, it is a precise diagnostic tool designed according to international standards to reveal mental flexibility, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. The results of this assessment help in:

  • Guiding the student towards the academic and professional path that best suits his abilities.
  • Opening up opportunities to enroll in summer enrichment and research programs.
  • Applying for scholarships at partnership schools and prestigious universities such as KAUST.
  • Qualifying to participate in major international competitions such as ISEF.

Increased demand and record numbers

Reflecting a growing public awareness of the importance of nurturing talent, recent statistics reveal that over 88,000 students have registered for the current edition of the program, representing more than 14,448 schools across the Kingdom. To date, over 57,000 students have taken the assessment at 123 testing centers, confirming the program's comprehensive reach and its accessibility to all target groups.

Target groups and call for registration

The program targets male and female students from the third grade of elementary school through the first year of high school. Mawhiba reiterated its call to families and schools to take advantage of the remaining days and encourage their children to participate in this experience, which could be a pivotal turning point in their academic and professional lives. Mawhiba emphasized that registration is available electronically through its official website until the specified date.
