Mawhiba prepares 214 students for the 2026 International Olympiads at the elite camp

In a strategic move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to investing in human capital, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) concluded its first Elite Camp. This significant scientific event was held simultaneously in three key locations: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Indonesia, culminating an intensive training program designed to prepare a new generation of young Saudi minds to represent the Kingdom at international scientific events in 2026.
The camp witnessed a qualitative scientific movement with the participation of 214 male and female students from the elite of talented individuals, who underwent rigorous and high-level training programs specifically designed to build their competitive capabilities according to the latest international standards adopted in global competitions.
A training environment with international standards
The training of these promising national talents was overseen by a specialized team of 38 highly qualified local and international trainers with extensive experience in science Olympiads, supported by a supervisory and support team to ensure the quality of scientific outcomes. The training took place in 22 halls equipped with the latest technological and educational resources, providing a stimulating environment that enhanced student focus and helped them grasp advanced scientific material and solve complex scientific problems.
The camp's program lasted for 12 consecutive days, during which participants received intensive doses of knowledge that combined deep theoretical grounding with precise practical application, which contributes to refining their analytical and critical skills.
Comprehensive scientific paths and a future vision
The training covered seven vital and strategic scientific tracks that form the backbone of modern scientific progress, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, general science, as well as computer science and astronomy/space science. This diversity demonstrates the comprehensiveness of the Saudi vision in preparing future scientists across all fields.
This event is particularly significant within the context of the scientific advancements taking place in the Kingdom as part of Vision 2030, as Saudi Arabia strives to transform into a knowledge-based society. These camps are considered a cornerstone for the continued success of Saudi Arabia in international forums, such as the ISEF exhibition and international Olympiads, where Saudi students have made remarkable strides in recent years, winning hundreds of awards and outperforming their peers from developed countries.
A pivotal step towards globalization
The elite camp is a pivotal and crucial stage in the nomination process, where the most distinguished and capable individuals are identified and selected to represent the Kingdom in upcoming competitions. Through these specialized camps, Mawhiba aims to enhance students' early preparation and raise their psychological and academic readiness to compete against their peers from around the world in 30 international and regional Olympiads annually.
This step comes within the framework of an ambitious national strategy to consolidate the Kingdom’s presence on the map of scientific creativity, amidst fierce competition involving more than 120 countries represented by thousands of outstanding students, which confirms the Kingdom’s determination to be at the forefront of countries exporting knowledge and innovation.
