The head of Mauritania's scholars praises Saudi Arabia's efforts and the visit of the Imam of the Grand Mosque

The head of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Sheikh Ould Saleh, praised the pioneering role and blessed efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in serving Islam and Muslims and caring for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
This praise coincided with the official visit of the Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet's Mosque, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Hudhaifi, to Mauritania, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Sheikh Ould Saleh described the visit as "a unique and unparalleled achievement" and a blessed step reflecting the deep fraternal and religious ties between the two brotherly nations.
Promoting scientific and advocacy communication
Sheikh Ould Saleh commended the qualitative initiatives led by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, under the close supervision of His Excellency the Minister, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh. He emphasized that the program of visits by the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques to Islamic countries represents a bridge for scholarly and spiritual exchange, and aims to consolidate the values of moderation and tolerance, and to reject extremism and fanaticism—the noble message that the Kingdom carries to the entire world.
Historical context and the Kingdom's leading role
This visit comes within the context of a long history of close relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mauritania (the land of Shinqit). Since its founding, the Kingdom has been known for its constant commitment to building bridges of cooperation with scholars and preachers throughout the Islamic world. The Kingdom is considered the foremost authority for Muslims due to its custodianship of the Islamic holy sites, which gives visits by the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques a special significance and a profound spiritual impact on the hearts of Muslim peoples.
Strategic dimensions and impact of the visit
At both the regional and international levels, these initiatives are of paramount importance in unifying the Muslim community and coordinating outreach efforts according to sound methodology. Such visits are not merely protocol-based; they extend to include scholarly meetings, awareness lectures, and Friday sermons, all of which contribute directly to strengthening intellectual security and combating ideas foreign to the true Islamic faith.
In concluding his statement, the head of the Mauritanian Council of Senior Scholars affirmed that what the Kingdom provides is not merely material or logistical support, but rather moral and scientific support that contributes to preserving the unifying Islamic identity, noting that hosting a scholar of the stature of the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque is conclusive evidence of the great care that the Saudi leadership gives to strengthening the bonds of love and brotherhood among the peoples of the Islamic nation.
