Mecca weather today: Rain in Taif and Al-Lith until the evening

The National Center for Meteorology issued an official weather alert for Tuesday, indicating that parts of the Makkah region will be affected by unstable weather conditions characterized by light rain. This report is part of the center's ongoing monitoring of weather changes to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.

Weather details and warning timing

The center explained in its report that the weather conditions will begin at 3:00 PM and continue until 8:00 PM today. The areas affected by this alert include several governorates and vital centers: Al-Ardiyat, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Qunfudhah, and Al-Lith . These rains are expected to be accompanied by other weather phenomena, including increased surface wind activity, which may lead to reduced horizontal visibility, in addition to the possibility of thunderstorms in some locations.

Geographical and climatic context of the region

These warnings are particularly important given the geographical nature of the affected areas. The Taif region and its surrounding mountainous areas, such as Maysan and Adham, lie within the Sarawat Mountains. These areas are characterized by their volatile weather and rugged terrain, which reacts rapidly to low-pressure systems. These highlands typically experience the formation of cumulonimbus clouds that produce rainfall, a common weather pattern that contributes to groundwater replenishment but necessitates extreme caution from those traveling on mountain roads and slopes.

The importance of warnings and safety measures

Such reports from the National Center of Meteorology are a cornerstone of public safety, guiding drivers and residents of open areas to take necessary precautions. Experts advise caution while driving in these conditions due to the potential for vehicles to skid at the onset of rain, or for reduced visibility caused by dust or fog that may form later.

Weather conditions in the rest of the Kingdom

Meanwhile, the weather conditions today are not limited to Mecca alone, but extend to other regions. Forecasts indicate a chance of thunderstorms with rain and active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Medina . Conversely, the meteorological department warned of the possibility of dense fog reducing visibility in parts of Riyadh, the Eastern Province, the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, and Tabuk, urging caution during the night and early morning hours.
