Medina weather: Rain, strong winds, and weather warnings

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia issued an important weather alert for the Madinah region, indicating that the area will be affected by a weather system characterized by light rainfall. The center explained in its daily report that this weather system is not limited to Madinah city alone, but extends to several of its surrounding governorates, namely Al-Hanakiya, Wadi Al-Fara, Al-Ais, and Khaybar.

Forecasts from the center indicate that these rains will be accompanied by several weather phenomena, most notably increased surface wind activity that may stir up dust and sand in some open areas, requiring drivers on highways to exercise caution. The center also warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to these weather conditions, in addition to the possibility of scattered thunderstorms coinciding with the rainfall.

In its ongoing monitoring of the situation, the National Center for Meteorology indicated that these weather fluctuations will continue until 11:00 PM this Thursday. This warning comes as part of the Center's continuous efforts to monitor and track weather changes across the Kingdom, utilizing the latest technologies and early warning systems to ensure the safety of lives and property.

For their part, the relevant authorities, including the Civil Defense, urged all citizens and residents in the affected areas to exercise caution. Instructions emphasized the importance of staying away from flood channels and wadi beds, especially in areas such as Wadi Al-Fara', which may experience flash floods after rainfall, and advised against attempting to cross wadis, no matter how low the water level may seem.

These warnings are particularly important given the topography of the Medina region and its surrounding governorates, which ranges from mountainous areas to valleys, making them highly susceptible to any weather changes. While these rains are classified as light, they are part of the region's typical climatic characteristics, which include seasonal fluctuations that necessitate continuous monitoring of official weather forecasts.

In conclusion, the center stressed the need to obtain information from official sources and follow the communication channels of the National Center for Meteorology and Civil Defense to get real-time updates on the weather situation, and to fully comply with public safety instructions to ensure that this weather situation passes safely.
