City buses during Ramadan: Shuttle route map 1445

As part of intensive preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, the Madinah Bus , overseen by the Madinah Region Development Authority, announced the launch of its integrated operational plan for shuttle bus services. This initiative aims to facilitate access for worshippers and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque and ensure smooth traffic flow in the city center and along its main thoroughfares.
Details of the Ramadan shuttle bus plan
The shuttle bus service is a cornerstone of Madinah's public transportation system during religious seasons, when the city experiences a large influx of visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad. The project has designated three main bus departure stations, covering a wide geographical area to serve as many residential neighborhoods as possible:
- Stadium Sports Station: It serves the neighborhoods of (Al-Difaa, Tayba, Urwa, Al-Nakheel, Al-Aziziya, Abu Buraiqa, Dhu Al-Halifa, Al-Wabra, Al-Jami’a, Al-Daitha, Al-Salam, Al-Jamawat, and Jama’ Umm Khalid).
- Shatha Station: It covers the neighborhoods of (Shatha, Al-Nuzha, Al-Dar, Al-Matar, King Fahd, Al-Shafiya, Al-Aridh, Al-Mab’outh, Al-Duwaikhla, Jashm, and A’ira).
- Garden Station: It serves the neighborhoods of (Al-Ahn, Al-Khatim, Al-Asaba, Al-Qaswa, Al-Jabrah, Shuran, Al-Rawabi, Wadi Mahzur, Wadi Mudhaynib, Al-Hadiqa, Al-Ranuna, and Al-Sadd).
Project importance and the objectives of Vision 2030
The "City Buses" project is not merely about transporting passengers; it is a vital component of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , specifically within the "Serving the Guests of God" and "Quality of Life" programs. The project directly contributes to reducing the severe traffic congestion that the central area typically experiences during peak hours, especially before Maghrib, Isha, and Taraweeh prayers, thereby reducing carbon emissions and improving the urban landscape.
Historically, Medina has witnessed a significant transformation in its transportation services, shifting from a complete reliance on private vehicles, which caused congestion in the parking areas surrounding the Grand Mosque, to a modern and sustainable public transportation system. These buses provide a safe, air-conditioned, and comfortable means of transport, making them the ideal choice for the elderly and families, eliminating the hassle of searching for parking and walking long distances.
How to benefit from the service
The authority urged all residents and visitors to take advantage of this modern service to ensure they reach their destinations easily and conveniently. Those wishing to view detailed routes and stops can download the interactive map via the official link .
This development initiative confirms the keenness of the wise leadership and the concerned authorities in Madinah to provide the best services to those visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, may God bless him and grant him peace, and to harness all capabilities to ensure an easy and safe spiritual experience during the holy month.
