Launch of the Media Scholarship Program: 100 seats for Saudi talents worldwide

In a significant step aimed at enhancing national talent in the media sector, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari announced the launch of the “Media Scholarship Program,” which provides 100 scholarships for talented Saudis to study at top international universities and academic institutions. This initiative, a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, represents a vital source of qualified professionals for the media market, trained according to the latest international standards.
Empowering national talent within the framework of Vision 2030
This announcement comes within the context of the comprehensive development drive underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on developing human capital. The media sector is a cornerstone of the Kingdom's soft power, making investment in human resources a pressing necessity to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the global media landscape. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic output and the evolving needs of the labor market by equipping scholarship recipients with advanced skills in content creation, digital media, and strategic communication.
Quality initiatives at the Saudi Media Forum
The program was announced during the Saudi Media Forum, where Minister Al-Dossari unveiled a package of 12 strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the Kingdom's media landscape. Among the most prominent of these initiatives is the "Saudi Mub" media innovation camp, which seeks to stimulate creativity and innovation among young people. The forum, held under the theme "Media in a Changing World," saw wide participation from over 300 media leaders and experts from around the globe, reflecting the Kingdom's growing stature as a regional hub for the media industry.
Future Media Exhibition “FOMEX”
On the sidelines of the forum, the Minister of Media emphasized the resounding success of the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) in its innovative edition, which saw the participation of over 250 local and international companies showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in production, broadcasting, and digital content. Al-Dossari stressed that the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – may God protect him – for the forum has given it a broader strategic dimension and underscored the vital role of media in expressing the Kingdom's identity and conveying its true image to the world.
Expected impact and future of Saudi media
The Media Scholarship Program is expected to produce a new generation of Saudi media professionals capable of competing globally and contributing to leading local media institutions toward new levels of professionalism. These rapid steps underscore the Ministry of Media and its partners' commitment to building a comprehensive and stimulating media environment that keeps pace with technological advancements and meets public expectations, thereby strengthening the Kingdom's leading position in the region and the world.
