King Salman Relief Clinics treat 267 beneficiaries in Hajjah

The mobile medical clinics of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid continued to provide their necessary treatment services to beneficiaries in the Al-Gharza area of Haradh District in Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, as part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people and support the health sector, which faces great challenges.

According to official statistics issued by the center, 267 individuals benefited from these treatment services during the period from January 7 to 13, as the services varied to include various basic medical specialties needed by the residents of the affected and remote areas.

Details of medical services provided

The clinics witnessed a diverse turnout reflecting the healthcare needs of the region. The infectious disease control clinic saw the largest number of patients, with 172 beneficiaries, highlighting the vital role these clinics play in monitoring and combating epidemics before they spread. The emergency clinic received 44 critical cases that were dealt with immediately, while the internal medicine clinic saw 50 individuals receiving necessary treatments for chronic and acute illnesses. The reproductive health clinic received one patient.

Regarding support and accompanying services, the nursing services department provided care to 105 patients, including measuring vital signs, dressing wounds, and other nursing procedures. Free medications were dispensed to 262 patients, and 20 injured individuals visited the surgery and dressing clinic. As part of the environmental sanitation efforts accompanying medical work, two activities were carried out for the safe disposal of medical waste to ensure the safety of the surrounding environment.

The importance of humanitarian intervention in Hajjah Governorate

These medical efforts in Hajjah Governorate, specifically in Haradh District, are of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance. The governorate is among the areas whose health infrastructure has been severely damaged by the years-long crisis, making access to central hospitals extremely difficult for residents of villages and border areas such as Al-Gharzah.

Mobile clinics are an ideal and effective solution in such circumstances, as they break down geographical isolation barriers and provide primary healthcare to citizens in their communities, thus reducing the burden of travel and transportation costs for families in need. These clinics also contribute directly to lowering mortality rates from treatable diseases and play a crucial preventative role in curbing the spread of infectious diseases in communities.

The Kingdom's leading role in supporting Yemen

This project is part of a comprehensive system of relief and development projects implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center across all Yemeni governorates without discrimination. These figures and ongoing efforts underscore the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to standing with the Yemeni people, not only through food aid but also by supporting vital sectors, most importantly the health sector, to ensure a dignified and healthy life for our brothers and sisters in Yemen and to bolster Yemeni health institutions' resilience in the face of crises.
