King Salman Relief Center treats 238 beneficiaries in Saada, Yemen

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to provide vital medical services in the Razih district of Saada Governorate. A total of 238 individuals benefited from these services between January 7 and 13, reflecting the Center’s commitment to providing healthcare in the most vulnerable areas.

Details of medical services provided

The clinics offered a wide range of medical services, encompassing various essential specialties. The infectious disease control clinic treated 80 patients, a figure that underscores the critical importance of these clinics in monitoring and combating epidemics in remote areas. The emergency clinic provided urgent care to 38 individuals, while the internal medicine clinic saw 80 patients seeking consultations and necessary treatments.

In the area of reproductive health, the clinic received 11 cases, while 29 people benefited from the services of the awareness and education department, which plays a pivotal role in spreading health awareness to prevent diseases before they occur.

Support services and logistical support

The efforts were not limited to medical examinations alone, but included a comprehensive system of accompanying services. The nursing services department examined 92 individuals, and free medication was dispensed to 202 people, alleviating the financial burden on Yemeni families amidst the difficult economic conditions. The surgery and dressing department treated 4 beneficiaries, and two medical waste disposal activities were carried out to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

The context of the humanitarian crisis and the importance of mobile clinics

These mobile clinics are of paramount strategic importance given the deterioration of the health sector in Yemen due to the ongoing crisis. Many areas, particularly border regions and rugged rural areas like Razih district in Saada, suffer from a severe shortage of permanent health facilities, medical personnel, and pharmaceutical supplies. These clinics fill a significant gap in services, providing a lifeline for the most vulnerable groups—women, children, and the elderly—who face difficulties accessing central hospitals.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

This project is part of a series of large-scale projects implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Yemen, encompassing hundreds of initiatives across the health, food, shelter, and education sectors. These efforts reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in international humanitarian work and its unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people without discrimination, as well as combating diseases and epidemics that threaten public health in the region.
