King Salman Relief Clinics continue treating patients in Hajjah, Yemen

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid continued to provide its treatment services in Al-Deir district of Hiran in Hajjah Governorate, where 355 individuals benefited from these services during the period from January 21 to 27, reflecting the center’s commitment to providing health care to the most needy groups in the affected areas.
Details of medical services provided
Recent statistics reveal a diverse range of medical services provided to meet the varied needs of the population in this remote area. The infectious disease control clinic topped the list of beneficiaries, receiving 190 patients, an indicator reflecting the critical need for epidemic control in these regions. The emergency clinic treated 96 critical cases efficiently, while the internal medicine clinic served 65 patients seeking consultations and necessary treatments. The center also prioritized awareness, with four individuals benefiting from the health education and awareness clinic.
Support services and dispensing of medications
In addition to direct medical examinations, the clinics provided a comprehensive range of support services to ensure holistic care. The nursing services department treated 80 patients, while the surgery and dressing clinic received 10 injured individuals. As part of the commitment to providing free treatment, medications were dispensed to 351 individuals, alleviating the financial burden on beneficiary families. Furthermore, two medical waste disposal activities were carried out safely, protecting the environment and public health in the area.
Context of the health crisis in Yemen
These efforts come at a time when Yemen’s health sector is facing immense challenges due to the current situation, with the infrastructure of hospitals and health centers in many governorates, including Hajjah, suffering severe damage. Mobile clinics are a vital strategic solution for reaching isolated villages and areas whose residents find it extremely difficult to travel to major cities for treatment, making the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s initiatives a lifeline for many civilians.
The leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has played a pivotal role since its establishment in alleviating human suffering in Yemen through numerous projects encompassing food security, shelter, water, and environmental sanitation, in addition to supporting the health sector. These figures recorded in Hajjah Governorate underscore the Kingdom's continued commitment to supporting its brothers and sisters in Yemen, working to improve public health indicators, and curbing the spread of diseases and epidemics that threaten the lives of the population. This is all part of a comprehensive humanitarian response plan aimed at restoring hope and achieving developmental and health stability across all Yemeni governorates.
