King Salman Relief Clinics continue treating patients in Hajjah, Yemen

The mobile medical clinics of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid continued to provide their integrated treatment services to beneficiaries in Abs District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, as part of the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the health sector in Yemen and alleviate the suffering of citizens in the affected areas.
According to official statistics for the period from January 21 to 27, the clinics received 203 patients with a variety of medical conditions and treatment needs. The infectious disease control clinic topped the list, receiving 91 patients, reflecting the vital role these clinics play in monitoring and containing epidemics before they spread, especially given the difficult health conditions the region is experiencing. The emergency clinic received 31 individuals who received necessary first aid, while the internal medicine clinic saw 65 patients, and the surgery and dressing department treated two patients.
Support services and health awareness
The center's efforts extended beyond diagnosis and direct treatment to include a comprehensive system of support services. Thirty-seven patients benefited from the nursing services clinic, and free medication was dispensed to 97 patients according to approved prescriptions. Recognizing the importance of prevention, the health awareness and education department provided services to 16 beneficiaries to raise health awareness among the population. Furthermore, in the interest of environmental protection and pollution prevention, two activities were carried out for the safe disposal of medical waste.
The importance of mobile clinics in the Yemeni context
Mobile medical clinics are of paramount strategic importance in Yemen, particularly in governorates with weak healthcare infrastructure, such as Hajjah. This initiative is part of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's strategy to reach the most vulnerable populations in remote areas and displacement camps, where many patients struggle to access central hospitals. These clinics serve as a first line of primary healthcare, contributing to saving lives and reducing morbidity and mortality rates.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
The continued operation of these clinics reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to supporting the brotherly Yemeni people in all fields, especially health and relief. These projects are an extension of a long history of humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which has successfully implemented hundreds of health projects. These projects have included rehabilitating hospitals, providing medicines and medical supplies, and operating mobile clinics in various Yemeni governorates, which has had a significant impact on stabilizing the health situation and preventing the collapse of the medical system in Yemen.
