King Salman Relief Center provides aid to hundreds of patients in Hajjah Governorate

The mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing its comprehensive medical and healthcare services to beneficiaries in the Al-Deir area of Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen. From March 25 to 31, the clinic successfully provided medical and preventative care to approximately 472 residents of the area who are suffering from extremely difficult living and health conditions due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Distribution of beneficiaries among the clinics of the King Salman Relief Center

The medical services provided to citizens were diverse, encompassing various emergency and basic medical specialties. The infectious disease clinic received 254 patients, while the emergency clinic handled 85 urgent cases. The internal medicine clinic served 106 patients, and the reproductive health clinic received two patients. Additionally, health awareness and education sessions were provided to 25 individuals to promote preventative health awareness among the population.

As part of its support and assistance services, the nursing services department attended to 137 patients, and medications and medical supplies were dispensed free of charge to 443 individuals to alleviate the financial burden on needy families. Additionally, 13 people visited the surgery and dressing clinic, and two activities were carried out to ensure the safe disposal of medical waste in order to protect the environment and public health in the area.

The humanitarian situation in Hajjah and the role of urgent medical interventions

These humanitarian efforts come amid a severe deterioration in Yemen's health sector, particularly in remote areas like Hajjah Governorate. These areas suffer from a critical shortage of medical personnel, medicines, and essential supplies, making mobile clinics the only lifeline for thousands of families. These clinics work to bridge the significant gap in primary healthcare and reduce the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases that plague local communities due to inadequate water and sanitation infrastructure.

Dimensions of Saudi support and its regional and humanitarian impact

This project represents an extension of the noble humanitarian stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the brotherly Yemeni people. The impact of this aid is not limited to the immediate local aspect of saving lives and providing medical treatment, but extends to form a fundamental pillar in regional and international efforts aimed at stabilizing the humanitarian situation in Yemen and preventing major health disasters that could affect the entire region. This leading role underscores the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to providing relief and development support to affected countries and peoples around the world without discrimination.
