King Salman Relief Center treats 526 beneficiaries in Hajjah, Yemen

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the mobile medical clinic of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing its medical and treatment services in Al-Deir village, Hayran district, Hajjah Governorate. A total of 526 individuals benefited from these services between December 10 and 16, reflecting the Center’s commitment to providing healthcare to the most vulnerable groups in affected areas.

Details of medical services provided

Official clinic statistics revealed a diverse range of services offered, encompassing various vital specialties. The infectious disease control clinic treated 331 patients, highlighting its crucial preventative role in curbing the spread of epidemics. The emergency clinic received 63 critical cases, the internal medicine clinic treated 126 patients, and the reproductive health clinic saw 6 patients.

Regarding support services, the nursing department provided care to 109 patients, while the surgery and dressing clinic treated 18 injured individuals. Efforts extended beyond examination and treatment, encompassing the dispensing of free medication to 530 people, in addition to implementing two activities dedicated to the safe disposal of medical waste, thus protecting the environment and public health.

The context of the humanitarian crisis and the importance of mobile clinics

This aid comes at a time when Yemen’s health sector is suffering a severe decline as a result of years of conflict, which has led to the closure of many health facilities, particularly in remote and border areas such as Hajjah Governorate. Mobile clinics are considered a strategic solution for reaching population centers in villages and isolated areas that lack permanent hospitals, providing a lifeline for patients who face difficulties traveling to access treatment.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since its establishment, it has consistently provided comprehensive support to Yemen in the health, food, and shelter sectors. These efforts are of regional and international importance, contributing to enhanced health security in the region by containing epidemic diseases before they spread and alleviating the burden on Yemeni families facing dire economic conditions. These figures and ongoing services underscore the Kingdom's commitment to prioritizing humanitarian aid, striving to achieve stability and provide a dignified life for its brothers and sisters in Yemen.
