King Salman Center inaugurates a modern kidney dialysis unit in Hajjah, Yemen

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the health sector in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a fully equipped kidney dialysis unit yesterday at the Al-Ja'ada Health Center in Hajjah Governorate. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Governor of Hajjah, Major General Abdulkarim Al-Sunaini, along with several local leaders and specialized medical personnel.
Medical equipment with international standards
Governor Al-Sunaini and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the modern equipment installed in the new unit, which was designed to accommodate the increasing number of patients and provide them with the necessary care. The unit features the latest dialysis technology, ensuring high efficiency and patient comfort during treatment sessions. Recognizing the importance of water purity in dialysis, the center has been equipped with a fully integrated water treatment plant operating according to the highest international health standards to guarantee patient safety and prevent any potential health complications.
Supporting the health system during crises
This step is of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance, given the dire circumstances facing the health sector in Yemen due to the ongoing crisis. Many Yemeni governorates, including Hajjah, suffer from a severe shortage of medical supplies and deteriorating hospital infrastructure, leaving kidney failure patients facing a genuine threat to their lives. The inauguration of this unit represents a lifeline for hundreds of patients who previously had to travel long distances and incur exorbitant costs to receive dialysis sessions in other areas.

For his part, the governor of Hajjah praised the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, emphasizing that this project represents a qualitative leap in the health services provided to the governorate's residents. He explained that providing sustainable and free treatment will directly contribute to alleviating the physical and psychological suffering of patients, as well as reducing the financial burden on their families.
This project is part of a series of relief and development programs implemented by the center throughout the Yemeni governorates, which include supporting hospitals, providing medicines, operating mobile clinics, and combating epidemics, based on the bonds of brotherhood and neighborliness, and the Kingdom’s keenness to stand by the brotherly Yemeni people in their ordeal until they regain their health and stability.
