King Salman Relief Center aid supports thousands of families in Syria and Yemen

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued its leading global humanitarian efforts, announcing aid from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for the most vulnerable groups in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Yemen. This initiative reflects the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to supporting communities suffering from humanitarian crises and difficult living conditions, contributing to alleviating the daily hardships faced by thousands of affected families.
Details of the distribution of aid from the King Salman Relief Center in Syria and Yemen
In Syria, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 746 food baskets to needy families in the Damascus countryside, directly benefiting 746 Syrian families. In a related effort, the center also distributed 2,954 cartons of dates to eligible families in Deir ez-Zor, benefiting 2,954 families, as part of the ongoing Saudi aid project to support the Syrian people and meet their basic food needs.
In Yemen, the center's humanitarian efforts extended to Shabwa Governorate, where 4,260 food baskets were distributed to the most vulnerable families in the districts of Mayfa'a, Habban, Radhum, and Jardan. Approximately 29,820 individuals benefited from this emergency aid, which falls under the second phase of the emergency food intervention project aimed at bridging the food gap and ensuring food security in affected areas of Yemen.
The humanitarian context of the Syrian and Yemeni crises
These humanitarian initiatives come at a time when the Arab region is facing complex challenges. Since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011, millions of Syrians have faced dire living conditions as a result of displacement and economic devastation, making food security a daily concern for the majority of the population. Similarly, Yemen is suffering from one of the world's worst humanitarian crises due to the ongoing conflict, which has led to the deterioration of infrastructure and a surge in acute malnutrition, particularly among children and women in remote governorates such as Shabwa.
The regional and international impact of the Saudi humanitarian role
The impact of this aid extends beyond the local dimension of saving lives and providing daily food; it forms a cornerstone of regional stability. The leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center reflects a clear humanitarian strategy aimed at promoting social cohesion and mitigating the consequences of irregular migration and forced displacement. Internationally, this effort is widely recognized by UN and international organizations, solidifying the Kingdom's position as one of the world's largest donors of humanitarian and development aid, and underscoring its noble mission of spreading peace and providing relief to those in need, regardless of race or religion.
