King Salman Center distributes winter and food aid in Yemen and Pakistan

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continues to solidify its leading role in global charitable work by intensifying urgent relief aid to brotherly and friendly nations. In its latest report, the Center announced a new aid package encompassing food, shelter, and education in both the Republic of Yemen and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, coinciding with the onset of winter and the increased need for humanitarian support.

Intensive winter and food aid in Hadramawt

As part of its ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 1,000 shopping vouchers yesterday in Tarim District, Hadramawt Governorate. These vouchers are part of the 2026 Winter Clothing Distribution Project (Kanaf) in Yemen, enabling beneficiaries to choose their winter clothing from approved stores. This initiative has benefited 1,000 displaced persons and families in the host community, helping to protect them from the cold.

In parallel with winter support, the center continued to enhance food security in the same governorate, distributing 4,700 food baskets in the districts of Al-Sum and Sayun. This aid, part of the Emergency Food Interventions Project, aims to bridge the food gap for 32,900 individuals, providing them with basic necessities amidst the difficult economic conditions.

Conclusion of quality educational projects in Lahj

Believing that education is the cornerstone of building societies, the center concluded a vital project to enhance the educational process in the Al-Hawta and Tuban districts of Lahj Governorate for the academic year (2025-2026). The project achieved tangible accomplishments, including:

  • Rehabilitation and restoration of 90 classrooms.
  • Distributing school bags and school uniforms to students.
  • Providing schools with office furniture, sports development equipment, and first aid kits.
  • Training and qualifying 78 volunteers from the educational staff.
  • Providing educational kits for 486 administrative and teaching staff.

This integrated project has benefited 6,464 male and female students in 10 schools, contributing to the creation of an attractive and sustainable educational environment for Yemeni students.

Extending the bridges of goodwill to Pakistan

The center's efforts were not limited to Yemen; they extended to those affected by natural disasters and cold waves in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. As part of the "Kanaf" winter relief project for 2026, the center distributed 6,635 winter kits yesterday, targeting various regions, including:

  • Balochistan region (Qal'at Saifullah, Qal'at Abdullah, Bashin areas).
  • Punjab region (Multan and Khanewal districts).
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (Mansehra and Kurram districts).
  • Kashmir region (Muzaffarabad and Neelum districts).

45,151 individuals from the most vulnerable groups affected by the floods have benefited from this aid, as these bags aim to provide warmth and protection to families in areas experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures.

The humanitarian context and the Saudi role

This diverse aid reaffirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to supporting afflicted populations and alleviating their suffering without discrimination. Since its inception, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has been a leading international platform for humanitarian work, focusing its strategy on reaching the most affected areas and providing sustainable solutions that extend beyond immediate relief to include development, infrastructure support, and education, reflecting the Kingdom's positive image on the international stage.
