King Salman Center distributes winter clothing in Daraa as part of the Kanf project

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support affected populations worldwide, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its impactful relief programs inside Syria. Yesterday, in the city of Busra al-Sham in Daraa Governorate, 566 vouchers for winter clothing were distributed, benefiting 566 individuals from the most vulnerable families.
Details of the "Kanaf" project in Syria
This distribution is part of the "Kanaf" project for 2026, one of the center's pioneering initiatives aimed at providing winter clothing to beneficiary families. The project's mechanism relies on distributing vouchers that enable beneficiaries to choose winter clothing that suits their needs, thus preserving their dignity and giving them the freedom to select items that meet their actual requirements, rather than distributing packages of ready-made clothing that may not be suitable for different sizes or tastes.
The context of winter suffering inside Syria
This aid is of paramount importance given the difficult climatic and economic conditions in Syria. With the arrival of winter, temperatures plummet across the country, exacerbating the suffering of thousands of families lacking heating and adequate clothing. This Saudi initiative aims to bridge a significant gap in basic needs, as many families are unable to purchase winter necessities due to soaring prices and deteriorating living conditions.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's efforts are not limited to Daraa Governorate alone, but extend to a wide geographical area. Through its various projects, the center seeks to provide food security, healthcare, and shelter. This swift and well-considered action reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding commitment to supporting the brotherly Syrian people in their time of need, thus reaffirming its pivotal role as one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid at both the regional and international levels.
The social and economic impact of the project
In addition to providing direct relief from the cold and related illnesses, the voucher project contributes to stimulating local economic activity within the targeted areas. These vouchers are redeemable in local markets, supporting small businesses and boosting the economic cycle in these vulnerable communities. These initiatives remain a lifeline for families and a message of fraternal solidarity from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards those affected in the region.
