Saudi Arabia distributes winter clothing to students in Gaza through the King Salman Center

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continued its tireless efforts to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by implementing impactful projects that address the needs of the most vulnerable groups. In its latest initiative, the Center distributed complete winter clothing kits to schoolchildren in southern Gaza as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people.
The distribution process involved close field cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the sector. The initiative not only delivered in-kind assistance but also included organizing a series of recreational and leisure activities for students, aiming to alleviate the psychological stress they are experiencing due to the current circumstances and to bring joy and happiness to their hearts, thus contributing to a more positive and stable learning environment.
Context of the Saudi popular campaign
This aid comes as an extension of the Saudi public campaign launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister, to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This campaign, through the "Sahem" platform, has successfully collected generous donations reflecting the strong Saudi public solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Palestine. These donations have been channeled into air and sea bridges that have transported thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials since the beginning of the crisis.
The importance of timing and human impact
This project is doubly important given its timing with the onset of winter, when displaced people and residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from a severe shortage of heating supplies and winter clothing. Providing clothing for students is a strategic step that not only protects them from the bitter cold but also encourages the continuation of the educational process and provides protection for children, which is a top priority in international humanitarian work.
This humanitarian intervention confirms the historical and unwavering position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in standing by the Palestinian people in various forums and crises, harnessing all its diplomatic and relief capabilities to alleviate their suffering, as the Kingdom is one of the largest donor countries and supporters of the Palestinian cause over the decades.
