King Salman Center distributes winter clothes to students in Khan Younis, Gaza

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its relief efforts in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, large quantities of winter clothing were distributed to students in temporary educational facilities, in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner for this field initiative.

Urgent response to harsh winter conditions

This humanitarian initiative comes as an immediate response to the growing needs imposed by the onset of winter, especially given the exceptional circumstances faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip. Students face immense challenges in continuing their education, as they receive their lessons in tents lacking even the most basic heating, following the widespread destruction of educational infrastructure and schools due to the ongoing conflict. This aid aims to protect children from the bitter cold and enable them to attend their temporary classrooms in good health and with dignity.

The Saudi Popular Campaign: A Bridge of Giving

This aid falls within the framework of the "Saudi Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip," launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. This campaign is one of the largest relief efforts the region has witnessed, with the Kingdom establishing a continuous air and sea bridge to transport thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, reflecting the strong popular and official Saudi solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Psychological and educational support

The efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's field teams were not limited to distributing winter clothing; they also included implementing a series of recreational and interactive activities for students. These activities are of paramount importance given the immense psychological pressures children are experiencing as a result of displacement and homelessness. These programs aim to alleviate psychological trauma, bring smiles to children's faces, and provide them with the moral support to uphold their right to education and life despite the harsh realities surrounding them.

A historic and unwavering Saudi stance

This relief effort embodies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding and unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. For decades, the Kingdom has been dedicated to providing all forms of political, economic, and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people during various hardships and crises. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom's humanitarian arm, reaffirms through these diverse activities the Kingdom's noble mission of prioritizing human dignity and striving to alleviate the suffering of those affected by conflicts around the world.
