The Center distributed complete winter clothing sets to children in schools and kindergartens in the central governorate of the Strip, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people .
Distribution mechanism and field partnership
This initiative was launched in collaboration with the field teams of the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the Gaza Strip. The distribution was carried out according to a well-organized logistical plan aimed at covering the widest possible range of educational institutions, ensuring that aid reached those who needed it equitably and that the distribution process was organized within classrooms and kindergartens to guarantee the continuity of the educational process.
The importance of timing: a harsh winter and exceptional circumstances
This relief intervention is of paramount importance given the critical timing for the residents of the Gaza Strip. The distribution coincides with the onset of winter's cold waves, amidst ongoing displacement and the loss of homes and belongings for thousands of families. Children are the most vulnerable in these difficult circumstances, making the provision of winter clothing an urgent necessity to protect them from illnesses associated with the harsh cold.
Moreover, this aid aims to support the return of the educational process, which has experienced long periods of interruption; providing warmth for children contributes to enabling them to return to their studies in an environment that preserves their dignity and provides them with a minimum level of health and psychological safety.
A long history of Saudi support
This aid is not a one-off event, but rather an extension of a long history of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause on all levels. The current Saudi public campaign comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister, to stand with the Palestinian people in their plight.
Through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom has successfully operated air and sea relief bridges, which included thousands of tons of food, medical and shelter supplies, thus consolidating the Kingdom’s position as one of the largest donor countries and supporters of humanitarian work regionally and internationally, and confirming its unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of those affected in conflict zones.
