King Salman Center distributes shelter aid in Saada, Yemen

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, continued its tireless efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people and alleviate their humanitarian suffering, as the center carried out a new distribution of shelter assistance in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen.

Specifically, the center's team distributed 150 tents and 80 shelter kits in the Razih district of Sa'dah Governorate. This urgent aid provided shelter and basic necessities to 1,350 individuals from the most vulnerable and affected families in the area, as part of the center's emergency shelter project implemented across various Yemeni governorates.

Emergency Shelter Project: An immediate response to needs

This distribution is part of a comprehensive strategic plan adopted by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, aimed at providing dignified shelter for displaced persons and those affected by crises and natural disasters in Yemen. The emergency shelter project focuses on rapid intervention to provide tents, blankets, mattresses, and shelter kits containing basic necessities, thus contributing to preserving the dignity of beneficiaries and protecting them from harsh weather conditions, especially in rugged mountainous areas such as Saada.

Humanitarian context and strategic importance

This aid is particularly important given the complex humanitarian situation Yemen has been experiencing for years. Saada Governorate is among the areas that have faced significant challenges, impacting infrastructure and the living conditions of its residents. The Center's initiative to reach remote and border districts like Razih underscores the comprehensive nature of Saudi humanitarian work and its commitment to reaching those in need across all regions without exception, thus addressing the substantial gap in humanitarian needs.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

This aid embodies the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in international humanitarian work, as the Kingdom tops the list of donor countries to Yemen. The efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center are not limited to shelter alone, but extend to the sectors of food security, health, water and sanitation, and education. This integrated system of projects works to strengthen the resilience of the Yemeni people and help them overcome current economic and living challenges, stemming from the bonds of brotherhood and neighborliness that unite the two sisterly countries.
