The King Salman Center distributes dates in Hadramawt and Shabwa as part of the 2026 plan

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to implement its ambitious food programs, as the governorates of Hadramawt and Shabwa witnessed the distribution of a new batch of food aid consisting of 1,300 cartons of dates, targeting the most needy families in remote areas.
Distribution details in Hadramawt and Shabwa
The distribution process included the districts of Haridah and Amd in Hadramawt Governorate, where 900 cartons of dates were allocated, benefiting 5,400 individuals from impoverished families. Simultaneously, the center's teams reached the Al-Rawdah district in Shabwah Governorate, where 400 cartons of dates were distributed, helping to meet the food needs of 2,800 beneficiaries. These initiatives aim to enhance food security in these areas facing significant challenges to their livelihoods.
Strategic Dates Distribution Project
This operation is not an isolated event, but rather part of a large and sustainable project undertaken by the center to distribute date aid in the Republic of Yemen for the year 2026. This strategic project aims to distribute a total of 625,000 cartons of dates, weighing a total of 5,000 tons. This aid covers a wide geographical area, including the governorates of Abyan, Al Hudaydah, Ad Dali', Al Mahrah, Taiz, Hajjah, Hadramawt, Socotra, Shabwah, Lahj, Aden, Ma'rib, and Al Jawf, targeting more than 375,000 individuals.

Dates hold a special place in relief food baskets due to their high nutritional value and ability to be stored for extended periods without requiring complex refrigeration, making them an ideal food source for areas suffering from power outages or transportation difficulties.
