Al-Rabeeah discusses humanitarian support for Palestine with the Minister of Social Development

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to support humanitarian causes in the region, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, held a virtual meeting today with Her Excellency Dr. Samah Hamad, Acting Minister of Social Development and Minister of State for Relief Affairs in the State of Palestine.
The meeting addressed a wide range of topics of mutual interest, focusing primarily on urgent relief and humanitarian affairs. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen their strategic bilateral partnership to support humanitarian work in the Palestinian territories, with an emphasis on mechanisms to provide comprehensive care for the Palestinian people. This aims to contribute to maintaining social cohesion under the current circumstances and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals that the Center seeks to uphold.
Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause
During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah emphasized the unwavering position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in its commitment to supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in all humanitarian and relief fields. He affirmed that the directives of the wise leadership consistently emphasize providing all possible assistance to bolster the resilience of the Palestinians and alleviate their suffering, particularly for the most vulnerable groups.
Historical context and leading role of the Kingdom
This meeting is a continuation of Saudi Arabia's long history of support for Palestine, as the Kingdom is one of the largest donors to the Palestinian people. Since the outbreak of the latest crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Kingdom, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has established a massive air and sea bridge, comprising hundreds of planes and trucks loaded with food, medical supplies, and shelter materials. In addition, a popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people was launched, which collected generous donations from the Saudi public, reflecting the strong popular and official solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The importance of joint coordination and developing mechanisms
This meeting is of particular importance at this critical juncture, as the need for coordinated international and regional efforts to ensure aid reaches those who need it most efficiently is ever-increasing. Through these discussions, both sides aim to overcome obstacles that may hinder humanitarian work and guarantee the continued flow of aid, not only as emergency relief but also as development projects that support the social and economic infrastructure of the Palestinian people.
For her part, Dr. Samah Hamad praised the outstanding professional level at which the King Salman Relief Center operates, appreciating its pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and throughout the Palestinian territories, especially during the current humanitarian crisis that requires international cooperation.
The minister concluded her remarks by expressing her thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them - for the generous Saudi assistance and noble stances that embody the depth of the brotherly relations between the two brotherly peoples.
