King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributes food and medical aid in 8 countries

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues to solidify the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as a beacon of international humanitarian work by implementing a wide range of simultaneous relief projects across Asia and Africa. These ongoing efforts aim to address the urgent needs of the most vulnerable populations amidst economic crises and natural disasters affecting various regions worldwide.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

These field operations are based on a long history of Saudi generosity, with the Kingdom, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, working to unify external support channels to ensure aid reaches those who need it most efficiently and without discrimination. This assistance is not limited to basic necessities; it aims to enhance food and health security, thereby contributing to regional and international stability and mitigating the consequences of displacement and migration in affected areas.

Food and shelter aid in Asia and Africa

As part of its recent field visits, the center intensified its activities in several countries, where aid included:

  • Afghanistan: 481 food baskets were distributed in Maimana city in Faryab province, benefiting 2,886 individuals, including returnees, displaced persons, and orphans, as part of a food security support project.
  • Chad: Two projects were launched in the capital N’Djamena to distribute 800 tons of dates and provide 13,500 personal care kits for women, benefiting more than 678,000 individuals, in the presence of high-ranking officials and diplomats.
  • Niger: 500 food baskets were distributed in the city of Abla Tablaberi, benefiting 3,500 displaced persons and members of the host community.

Facing the winter cold in Pakistan and Lebanon

With the arrival of winter, the center launched quality initiatives to protect vulnerable groups from the harsh cold:

  • Pakistan: 1,000 winter kits were distributed in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, benefiting 7,549 flood victims and residents of cold regions within the “Kanaf” project.
  • Lebanon: 569 vouchers for winter clothing were provided in Sidon, Tripoli, Zahle and Beirut, benefiting Syrian and Palestinian refugees and needy families.

Urgent response in Sudan and Syria

Countries facing internal crises were not overlooked in Saudi Arabia's aid efforts. The center distributed 1,000 food baskets in North Kordofan State, Sudan , benefiting 6,625 displaced people. In Syria , 272 shelter kits were distributed in Aleppo Governorate to support affected families.

Comprehensive healthcare in Yemen

Regarding Yemen, the Center continued its support for the vital health sector. Clinics at the Al-Ja'ada Health Center in Hajjah Governorate provided services to 1,796 beneficiaries in a single week, including emergency, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology clinics. Mobile clinics in Al-Khawkhah District, Al-Hudaydah Governorate, also provided medical services to 5,128 beneficiaries, along with necessary medications and laboratory tests. This reflects the Kingdom's commitment to alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people across various governorates.
