335 graduates at King Saud Medical City to support Vision 2030

In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing healthcare security and developing local medical professions, King Saud Medical City celebrated the graduation of a new class of 335 trainees, representing a select group of qualified national talents across various healthcare specialties. The ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of the CEO of the First Riyadh Health Cluster, Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Tamimi, and with the participation of the medical city's leadership.

Investment in human capital

During the ceremony, Dr. Saleh Al-Tamimi emphasized that the graduation of this group is not merely a statistic added to the human resources records, but rather a tangible embodiment of the fruits of investment in Saudi citizens, who are the cornerstone of development. He noted that these efforts are a direct response to the directives of the wise leadership aimed at empowering national talent and raising the quality of healthcare education, thereby ensuring the sustainability of services provided to citizens and residents.

A pivotal role in health transformation

This step is of paramount strategic importance within the framework of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. These graduates are expected to play an active role in bridging gaps in the healthcare workforce, reducing reliance on external personnel, and enhancing performance efficiency in healthcare facilities affiliated with the First Riyadh Health Cluster. King Saud Medical City (formerly Al-Shumaisi) is a long-established medical institution that has been at the forefront of training physicians and healthcare practitioners in the region for decades.

Remarkable academic figures and achievements

For his part, the Executive Director of Academic Affairs at the city, Dr. Dhafer Al-Ahmadi, explained that the medical city continues its leadership as an accredited training center, revealing accurate statistics that reflect the scale of the diligent work, most notably:

  • 91 training programs have been approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Added 14 new programs that were approved during 2025.
  • The total number of trainees in the programs reached 1181 trainees .
  • Achieving an outstanding success rate of 98% for the year 2024.

Scholarships and Skills Development

In a related context, Dr. Mohammed Al-Maliki, CEO of King Saud Medical City, emphasized the importance of scholarship and fellowship programs, which receive unlimited support. He noted that 154 employees are currently enrolled in internal and external scholarship programs in specialized and rare fields, ensuring the transfer of knowledge, the localization of modern treatment technologies, and the development of a healthcare system capable of keeping pace with the rapid global changes in medicine and healthcare.
