Winners of the King Salman Award for the Holy Quran for the year 1447 AH

His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and General Supervisor of Local and International Quranic Competitions, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, announced the results and names of the winners of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Local Competition for Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran for Boys, in its twenty-seventh session for the year 1447 AH. This competition is a culmination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to serve the Book of God and encourage younger generations to memorize it and reflect upon its meanings.

The King Salman Award for Memorizing the Holy Quran is one of the most prominent and prestigious Quranic competitions in the Kingdom. It was launched decades ago with the noble aim of connecting the sons and daughters of the nation with the Holy Quran and motivating them to engage in honorable competition in memorizing, reciting, and understanding its interpretation. The award reflects the generous care bestowed upon the Holy Quran and its people by the wise leadership, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them both – a firmly established approach upon which the Saudi state has been founded since its establishment.

The final rounds of the 27th session were held in Riyadh from the 25th to the 29th of Sha'ban 1447 AH, with 129 contestants competing diligently in the six categories of the competition. The total prize money awarded to the winners this year exceeded seven million Saudi Riyals, reflecting the high esteem in which those who memorize the Quran are held.
List of winners in the competition categories
First branch: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran with interpretation
Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdul Razzaq Al Mutawa won first place and received 400,000 riyals. Abdul Rahman bin Mukhtar bin Ahmed Mohammed came in second place with 375,000 riyals, and Abdul Rahman bin Hassan bin Abdullah Kaddaf came in third place with 350,000 riyals.
The second branch: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran
The first prize of 250,000 riyals was won by Asil bin Mohammed bin Mualla Al Mafouz. Second place went to Omar bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Subaih, who received 225,000 riyals, and third place to Ahmed bin Hamed bin Rashid Al Sahli, who received 200,000 riyals.
Third branch: Memorizing twenty parts
The first prize, 180,000 riyals, was won by Muhanna bin Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Muhanna. Bilal bin Nafeh bin Salim Allah Al-Hujaili came in second with 170,000 riyals, and Mahmoud bin Riyadh bin Mahmoud Falatah came in third with 160,000 riyals.
Fourth branch: Memorizing ten parts
Khaled bin Abdul Mohsen bin Abdul Aziz Al-Askar won first place with a prize of 120,000 riyals. Abdul Rahman bin Tarad bin Tarfa Al-Anzi came in second with 110,000 riyals, and Amin bin Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Mohammed came in third with 100,000 riyals.
Fifth branch: Memorizing five parts
The first prize was won by Anas bin Ali bin Tawila Al-Mutairi, with a prize of 60,000 riyals. Second place went to Awad bin Sarhan bin Awad Al-Rashidi, with a prize of 55,000 riyals, and third place to Anas bin Yusuf bin Muhammad Saleh Abdul-Jawad, with a prize of 50,000 riyals.
Section Six: Memorizing two parts (for people with disabilities)
Tamim bin Saud bin Dhaifallah Al-Anzi won first place with 35,000 riyals. Anas bin Muhammad bin Abdul Wahid came in second with 32,500 riyals, and Bassam bin Hamed bin Attallah Al-Saati came in third with 30,000 riyals.

In concluding his announcement, His Excellency Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh commended the outstanding level demonstrated by the participants and their profound mastery of memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran.
