Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, the capital city of Riyadh is preparing to host the closing ceremony of the 13th Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work . The ceremony, scheduled for Sunday evening, February 8, 2026, will be attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, who will honor 10 winners who have made exceptional contributions to the field of charitable and social work.
Honoring excellence and consolidating institutional work
This year's ceremony features a special tribute, with the Princess Seetah Endowment being honored as a guest of honor, in recognition of its pivotal role in supporting and sustaining development and charitable work. This honor crowns the endowment's efforts in transforming humanitarian work from individual initiatives into a sustainable, institutionalized system, reflecting the maturity achieved by the non-profit sector in the Kingdom.
A legacy of giving and a vision for the future
The award derives its importance and prestigious standing from the name it bears, as Princess Seeta bint Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on her – is considered a symbol of charitable work in the Kingdom, renowned for her humanitarian initiatives that addressed the needs of society. This award is a continuation of this great legacy, aiming to cultivate a culture of social work and encourage positive competition among pioneers in charitable endeavors, whether individuals or institutions.
In a related context, the Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Fahd bin Hamad Al-Maghlouth, affirmed that the award does not merely honor individuals, but also strives to discover more creative talents among the sons and daughters of the nation, in addition to motivating governmental, endowment, and private sector entities to present impactful initiatives. Al-Maghlouth pointed out that these efforts directly contribute to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , which places great importance on the social responsibility sector and considers it a fundamental pillar for strengthening social cohesion and increasing the contribution of the non-profit sector to the gross domestic product.
Local and regional impact
The award's continued success and its reaching its thirteenth cycle is a testament to its significant impact on the Saudi and Gulf social landscape. By highlighting exemplary figures, the award inspires new generations to engage in volunteer and humanitarian work, thereby reinforcing the values of solidarity and compassion that characterize Saudi society and solidifying the Kingdom's position as a leading nation in humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels.
