Ramadan aid 1445: Royal decree to disburse 3.3 billion to social security beneficiaries

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, issued a generous royal decree allocating more than 3.3 billion Saudi riyals as “Ramadan aid” to beneficiaries of social security for the current Hijri year 1445 AH. This generous royal gesture reflects the wise leadership’s commitment to supporting citizens and meeting the needs of the most deserving groups, especially with the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan.
In accordance with the royal directive, the funds will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries, with 1,000 riyals allocated to each head of household and 500 riyals to each family member. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has completed all necessary procedures to ensure that the support reaches those entitled to it as quickly as possible, facilitating their ability to meet their needs during the holy month.
Historical context and annual honor
This Ramadan aid, known as the "Royal Grant," is a long-standing annual tradition upheld by the Kings of Saudi Arabia, reflecting the Kingdom's deep concern for its citizens and its ongoing care for them. It represents an extension of the spirit of giving and support upon which the country was founded, and underscores the leadership's commitment to strengthening social solidarity and providing a dignified life for all segments of society. These initiatives reinforce the social safety net provided by the state through various programs, most notably the enhanced social security system, which aims to achieve financial stability for needy families and empower their members.
Importance and expected impact
This aid is of paramount importance locally, as it directly contributes to easing the financial burden on beneficiary families during Ramadan, a month that typically sees increased spending on food, household necessities, and preparations for Eid al-Fitr. It is also expected to have a positive impact on the local economy by boosting the purchasing power of these families, thereby stimulating activity in commercial markets and the retail sector.
More broadly, these initiatives reinforce the Kingdom's image as a leader in social welfare and humanitarian work, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 , which prioritizes improving the quality of life and empowering citizens. Disbursing this aid at this time strengthens the values of compassion and solidarity within society and underscores the close relationship between the leadership and the people.
