Saudi Arabia delivers 5 tons of dates to Turkmenistan as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' gift

As part of the ongoing humanitarian and advocacy efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve Islam and Muslims around the world, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Kazakhstan (whose services cover the Republic of Turkmenistan), delivered the gift of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - of premium dates to the sisterly Republic of Turkmenistan.
The handover ceremony took place in an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, in the presence of the Deputy Head of the Saudi Diplomatic Mission, Mr. Nayef bin Saud Al-Sahli, along with a number of prominent officials from the Turkmen side, and representatives of the Fatwa Department and imams of mosques, reflecting the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
Program details and number of beneficiaries
The ministry explained that the shipment consisted of five tons of premium dates for which the Kingdom is renowned, and that more than 20,000 Turkmen people are expected to benefit from this generous royal gift. This program embodies the values of solidarity and compassion encouraged by Islam, and reaffirms the Kingdom's leading role in addressing the needs of Muslims and building bridges of human connection with them across the globe.
Program context and global dimensions
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift of Dates program is one of the most important annual programs overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Its implementation is not limited to a single country, but extends to 120 countries worldwide. The program aims to distribute hundreds of tons of dates annually, particularly as religious seasons approach, to strengthen the bonds of love and brotherhood between the Kingdom and the peoples of the Islamic world. This massive effort reflects the wise leadership's commitment to continuing the tradition of giving that the Kingdom has followed since its founding, as the Qibla of Muslims and the birthplace of revelation.
Echoes of the initiative and bilateral relations
For their part, representatives of the Fatwa Department and officials in Turkmenistan expressed their profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, appreciating this generous gesture which is repeated annually. They affirmed that such initiatives are not surprising from the Kingdom of Humanity, which has consistently provided services and facilities to Muslims, including the exceptional care given to Turkmen pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah. These programs directly contribute to strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations between Riyadh and Ashgabat and underscore the unity of the Muslim world.
