Temperatures in Saudi Arabia today: Rain, fog, and weather details

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia, in its daily report, revealed the latest weather conditions and temperatures across the Kingdom for Tuesday. The city of Dammam recorded a high of 28 degrees Celsius, reflecting relatively stable weather in the Eastern Province. However, the data also showed significant climatic variations across different regions of the Kingdom, a characteristic feature of the country's diverse continental climate.
Details of maximum temperatures in Saudi cities
The report highlighted significant temperature variations, with Mecca experiencing warmer weather, while the southern highlands maintained their usual coolness. The detailed list of recorded maximum temperatures is as follows:
- Mecca: 31 degrees Celsius.
- Medina: 29 degrees Celsius.
- Jeddah: 29 degrees Celsius.
- Dammam: 28 degrees Celsius.
- Riyadh: 28 degrees Celsius.
- Jazan: 29 degrees Celsius.
- Buraidah: 28 degrees Celsius.
- Combined: 27 degrees Celsius.
- Wadi Al-Dawasir: 27 degrees Celsius.
- Sharurah: 26 degrees Celsius.
- Dawadmi: 25 degrees Celsius.

Geographical diversity and its impact on climate
This significant temperature variation is attributed to Saudi Arabia's unique geographical diversity. While coastal cities along the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf, such as Jeddah, Dammam, and Jazan, enjoy relatively mild and humid climates, the Sarawat Mountains, home to cities like Abha and Al-Baha, play a pivotal role in lowering temperatures, recording only 17 degrees Celsius today. This diversity makes the Kingdom a distinctive winter tourist destination, with visitors choosing between warmer or cooler regions according to their preferences.
Rain forecast and weather conditions
Regarding the accompanying weather phenomena, the National Center for Meteorology indicated that the chances of scattered thunderstorms will continue. The forecast includes parts of the Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah , with the effects extending to the northern parts of the Kingdom. This weather pattern is a result of the influx of moist air currents that contribute to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, a common natural phenomenon that helps irrigate vegetation and replenish groundwater in those areas.
Safety and fog warnings in the Eastern Province
The report also warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dense fog during the night and early morning hours, particularly in parts of the Eastern Province . Fog is a phenomenon that requires extreme caution from drivers on the highways connecting the Eastern Province cities of Dammam, Khobar, and Jubail.
In this context, the relevant authorities, including the Civil Defense, stress the need to follow safety guidelines, such as leaving a sufficient safety distance between vehicles, using fog lights, and staying away from flood channels and valleys in rainy areas, to ensure the safety of lives and property.
