Jeddah Municipality: 7,000 health certificates and food inspections in January
The Jeddah Municipality released its inspection statistics for January, revealing intensive activity aimed at protecting public health and ensuring the safety of food provided to residents and visitors. The municipality announced the issuance and renewal of 6,993 health certificates, in addition to the testing of 7,448 food samples through its specialized laboratories, as part of its ongoing strategy to improve the quality of municipal services.
Intensive field efforts within the "Ijada" program
The municipality explained that these figures are the result of field inspection tours that included health and food establishments located within 11 sub-municipalities. These efforts fall under the umbrella of the "Ijadah" program, which represents a qualitative leap in municipal oversight mechanisms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program aims to improve the urban landscape and raise compliance rates with health and technical requirements, which will positively impact the quality of life and services provided to beneficiaries.
The context of digital transformation and streamlining procedures
In line with the Kingdom's digital transformation efforts under Vision 2030, the Secretariat confirmed that business owners and their employees can benefit from streamlined electronic services through the "Baladi" platform. This platform allows for the immediate issuance and printing of health certificates electronically without the need to visit Secretariat offices, thanks to the direct technical link between medical test results and the Ministry of Health's platform. This saves time and effort and enhances the efficiency of the business environment.

These regulatory efforts are particularly important in Jeddah, given its status as the main gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and a major tourist and economic hub on the Red Sea coast.
