Jeddah Municipality: 109,000 health certificates and 82,000 food samples tested in 2025

The Jeddah Municipality has released its 2025 regulatory statistics, which demonstrate intensive efforts in the areas of public health and food safety. A total of 109,637 health certificates were issued and renewed, and 82,092 food samples were tested by the laboratories department. These figures reflect the municipality's diligent work to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the city's residents and visitors.

Digital transformation and facilitating services through the Baladi platform

In light of the Kingdom's technological advancements, the Secretariat clarified that these achievements would not have been possible with such efficiency without relying on advanced digital solutions. The "Baladi" platform has enabled business owners and their employees to easily issue and print health certificates electronically, eliminating the need to visit Secretariat offices. This is achieved through a direct electronic link between medical examination results and the "Seha" platform, which enhances the speed of procedures and ensures the reliability of results, ultimately contributing to a better business environment in the city.

The strategic importance of Jeddah and the impact of health control

These oversight efforts are doubly important given Jeddah's strategic location as the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and the premier tourist destination on the Red Sea coast. With millions of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and tourists arriving annually, ensuring food safety and health compliance in restaurants and commercial establishments becomes a cornerstone of national health security. Intensified monitoring and food sampling not only protect the local population but also contribute to presenting a positive and dignified image of the services provided to pilgrims and visitors from around the world.

"Ijada" program and raising compliance standards

The municipality confirmed that the inspection tours, which covered 11 sub-municipalities, are part of the "Ijadah" program, which aims to improve the urban landscape and increase compliance with municipal regulations. The program not only monitors violations but also focuses primarily on raising awareness among business owners about the importance of adhering to health standards. This positively impacts the quality of life and services provided, and contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in creating a sustainable and healthy environment.
