Comprehensive plans: Jeddah Municipality's preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season

The relevant authorities announced the completion of Jeddah Municipality's preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season, as part of the comprehensive system of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This step comes through the implementation of integrated operational plans aimed at enhancing public safety and health levels, and improving the efficiency of field response in various vital locations, in an effort to achieve the highest levels of satisfaction for pilgrims, in addition to meeting the needs of the city's residents and visitors during this exceptional period of the year.

A long history of caring for the guests of God

Jeddah is the main gateway to the Two Holy Mosques and the primary transit point for millions of pilgrims arriving by air and sea for decades. Historically, Jeddah has been associated with providing logistical and municipal services to pilgrims, and these services have developed year after year to keep pace with the continuous increase in the number of arrivals. In this context, the Jeddah Municipality's preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season are a natural extension of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to dedicate all human and material resources to serving the pilgrims. The Municipality continuously works to modernize its infrastructure and develop its municipal work mechanisms to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide a healthy and safe environment that reflects the Kingdom's civilized image.

Intensifying health and environmental monitoring in Jeddah

The Secretariat explained that its comprehensive plan focuses on areas affected by increased traffic from pilgrims and visitors, particularly the routes leading to the holy sites. The plan aims to intensify field inspections of kitchens, restaurants, commercial centers and markets, food and catering establishments, as well as hotels, furnished apartments, and recreational facilities. This intensification aims to increase compliance with health regulations and improve the quality of services provided to all.

Paying attention to cleanliness and setting schedules

Preparations include focusing cleaning and environmental sanitation efforts at pilgrim transit points, gathering points, and transportation routes. This includes preparing the areas surrounding the Miqat points of Yalamlam and Al-Juhfah, within the municipalities of Al-Lith and Rabigh governorates, to receive pilgrims passing through these points. The work also includes cleaning the areas around Eid prayer grounds, slaughterhouses, public markets, recreational areas, parks, and waterfronts, while ongoing maintenance of public facilities to accommodate visitors during the Eid holiday.

Monitoring slaughterhouses and assembly points

The plan included preparing and operating two assembly points in Jeddah, specifically in the Al-Muntazah district and on Huda Al-Sham Road. These points are designated to accommodate pilgrims without Hajj permits, and their role is limited to providing operational and logistical support in cooperation with relevant authorities. The municipality also emphasized its intensified efforts to monitor licensed kitchens during the days of Eid al-Adha sacrifices, follow up on approved livestock sales points, and supervise checkpoints to prevent the smuggling of sacrificial meat through the governorate's entry points.

Strategic dimensions and overall impact of a successful season

The importance of the success of municipal plans extends beyond the local level to encompass regional and international dimensions. Locally, these efforts contribute to protecting public health and preventing the spread of epidemics, positively impacting the quality of life for Jeddah residents. Regionally and internationally, providing exceptional services reinforces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as a leader of the Islamic world and underscores its remarkable ability to manage millions of pilgrims efficiently and effectively. The Municipality has enhanced its field readiness to receive and address reports around the clock through the "Baladi" application or the unified number 940, ensuring the continuity of operations and presenting a distinguished image befitting the magnitude of this major Islamic event, leaving a positive impression on pilgrims returning to their home countries.
