Furthermore, they noted a complete absence of health and municipal regulations, a severe decline in general hygiene standards, and a significant infestation of insects and rodents in the food preparation and storage areas.
Bakhsh explained that a thorough inspection revealed that three rooms within the site were being used as worker accommodations, and that dilapidated and contaminated equipment was being used in unsafe food preparation and processing methods. Large quantities of food and raw materials unfit for human consumption were also seized, having been prepared and stored in a contaminated environment using expired materials. Consequently, all the seized items, weighing approximately nine tons, were confiscated and immediately destroyed to protect public health. The site was closed pending further legal action and the application of deterrent penalties against the violators.
