The Resources Association for Human Capacity Investment has been officially launched

The Resources Association for Human Capital Investment has officially launched its operations, following official approval from the relevant authorities. This marks a significant new addition to the non-profit sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This step comes in response to the growing need to enhance community development and empower national talent, aligning directly with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , which prioritizes human capital development.
The context of establishment and the importance of timing
The establishment of the “Mawared” Association comes at a time when the Kingdom is undergoing a radical transformation in the structure of the third (non-profit) sector, as the government seeks to increase this sector’s contribution to the GDP from less than 1% to 5% by 2030. The association’s work falls within the framework of the Human Capability Development Program , one of the Vision 2030 programs, which aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Saudi citizens. This association represents a strategic step towards transitioning from traditional charitable work to sustainable development work that focuses on training and empowerment rather than temporary, direct support.
The association's goals and social investment approach
In a statement, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Thamer Al-Duraan , explained that the Association adopts a specialized approach focused on social investment programs, rehabilitation, training, and employment. He emphasized that the Association employs a strategy of “localization through social investment,” a methodology aimed at bridging gaps in the labor market through qualified national talent and delivering impactful and sustainable initiatives that serve various segments of society. Al-Duraan stressed the Association’s commitment to building a professional institutional model based on the pillars of governance, operational efficiency, and high transparency.
Organizational structure and future plans
On the internal organizational front, the association's board of directors held its first meeting, chaired by Al-Duraan, where the foundations for institutional work were laid. The meeting included a review of the establishment phases, approval of the organizational structure, and the formation of standing committees that will oversee the implementation of initiatives. The board also discussed the operational plan for the first year and outlined a roadmap for the initiatives and specialized programs planned for implementation soon.
Strengthening partnerships and expected impact
The council also discussed mechanisms for strengthening strategic partnerships with the three sectors: government, private, and non-profit. These partnerships aim to maximize social impact and expand the scope of services provided to beneficiaries. The association is expected to contribute to reducing unemployment rates and improving quality of life by transforming beneficiaries into productive members of society, thereby enhancing social stability and economic growth.
The council concluded its meeting by affirming its commitment to launching a package of innovative initiatives, expressing its gratitude to the supporting entities and founding members, and emphasizing that “Mawared” will work to be a model to be emulated in developmental creativity and organized institutional work.
