9700 mosques in Jazan are being prepared to welcome the month of Ramadan 1447 AH

The Jazan branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance announced the completion of all necessary preparations for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH, including the readiness of over 9,700 mosques, prayer halls, and women's prayer areas across the region's various governorates and centers. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that mosques are prepared to accommodate the increasing number of worshippers during the blessed month.

A comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure the comfort of worshippers

The preparations included implementing a comprehensive and meticulous maintenance plan, which encompassed ensuring the efficiency of air conditioning and lighting systems, maintaining sound systems to guarantee clear and audible sound throughout the mosques, as well as deep cleaning, sanitization, fragrance application, and the replacement of worn-out carpets. These measures aim to address all technical and structural issues to provide a serene and spiritually uplifting environment befitting the sanctity of the place and time, enabling worshippers to perform their prayers, particularly the Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers, in an atmosphere of tranquility and peace.

Promoting a culture of volunteer work in service of the houses of God

In a related context, the Ministry's branch in Jazan has given considerable attention to promoting volunteer work, launching 840 volunteer opportunities coinciding with the start of the holy month of Ramadan. These opportunities vary and include organizing the entry and exit of worshippers to avoid overcrowding, directly supervising the iftar meals, distributing water bottles, participating in cleaning and minor maintenance work, and replacing old copies of the Quran with new ones.

The branch has allocated 5,800 volunteer positions for these initiatives, with a total expected volunteer time exceeding 17,500 hours, covering 630 mosques, prayer halls, and women's prayer rooms. These efforts are being undertaken in partnership with several government agencies and non-profit organizations, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation among various sectors of the state and society.

Ongoing care for mosques in the Kingdom

These intensive efforts in the Jazan region are an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding approach to the care and maintenance of mosques, both physically and spiritually. The wise leadership places great importance on the mosque sector, dedicating all available material and human resources to its service, stemming from the Kingdom's status as the Qibla for Muslims and the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs regularly assesses the needs of mosques in all regions, especially before major religious seasons, to ensure the provision of the highest quality services to pilgrims and worshippers.

The social and spiritual impact of preparations

These advance preparations have a significant positive impact on both the social and spiritual levels. They are not limited to the technical aspects alone, but also contribute to strengthening community solidarity by opening avenues for volunteering and sharing in the reward. Furthermore, preparing and equipping mosques with the best services instills tranquility in the hearts of worshippers, enabling them to dedicate themselves to worship and remembrance during this blessed month. This reinforces the values of social responsibility and strengthens the outreach and community role of mosques as beacons of guidance and cultural enlightenment.
