Steps to issue and print a resident's length of stay report via Absher

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts towards digital transformation and achieving the goals of Vision 2030, the Ministry of Interior continues to develop its electronic services through the "Absher" platform, to facilitate procedures for citizens and residents and save them time and effort. The service for issuing official reports electronically is one of the most important of these services, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit government branches.

Steps to issue a resident's length of stay report

The Absher platform has explained the approved procedure for issuing and instantly printing a report detailing a resident's length of stay in the Kingdom. This service is of paramount importance to residents, as it serves as official proof of their residency dates to government agencies, embassies, or employers. The steps are summarized below:

  1. Log in to the beneficiary's account on the "Absher" electronic platform.
  2. Click on the “My Services” tab.
  3. Switch to the “Public Services” option.
  4. Select the “Absher Reports” icon.
  5. Click on the “Resident Length of Stay Report” service, then request and print the report.

List of reports available for printing via Absher

The reporting services are not limited to the duration of stay; the platform has identified 7 types of reports that users can view and print for use in various legal and administrative procedures, namely:

  • My data report (beneficiary).
  • Family member data report.
  • Vehicle registration report.
  • Traffic violation report.
  • Traffic accident report.
  • Travel log data report.
  • Domestic worker report.

Regulations for renewing national identity and changing name

On another note, and within the civil status services listed on Absher, precise criteria have been set for personal photos when renewing the national identity card to ensure immediate acceptance of the application. The conditions included:

  • The background should be completely white.
  • The photo should be recent (no more than 6 months old).
  • Clear facial features, free from exaggerated expressions or makeup that alters features.
  • The image should be free of ink spots or holes.
  • Take the picture straight ahead, avoiding the reflection of the glasses (red eyes).

Online first name change service

In a significant step forward for civil procedures, the Civil Status Department has launched an online service for changing the first name of citizens or their children (under 18 years of age). This service is completely free of charge and is processed instantly for names already registered, or within five working days for unregistered names.

The system allows for a maximum of two changes to the first name, provided that the second time is to revert to the previous name, with the necessary parental consent for those under the age of majority, and that there are no other pending applications.
