The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is organizing awareness programs for Umrah pilgrims for the 1447 AH season

As part of its ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visitation, announced the launch of its outreach program to educate Umrah pilgrims during the current Umrah season of 1447 AH. This step comes as a continuation of the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in caring for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and providing them with a suitable spiritual and educational environment.
Scientific programs in international languages
This year's outreach plan is comprehensive and diverse, featuring an intensive series of daily religious lessons, sermons, and faith-based lectures. These events are held in strategically located mosques near the Grand Mosque and the central area to ensure accessibility for the widest possible range of pilgrims. A distinguished group of official preachers from the Ministry participate in delivering these programs, supported by a team of qualified translators proficient in several international languages. This collaborative approach aims to overcome language barriers and ensure that the correct Islamic message reaches the diverse nationalities and cultures visiting the Holy Land.
Awareness and guidance topics
The outreach programs are based on several key themes that are important to the pilgrim on his spiritual journey, most notably:
- Explanation of the rituals: Clarifying the rituals of Umrah step by step according to the Prophetic guidance.
- Creed and Monotheism: Clarifying the issues of correct creed and correcting misconceptions.
- Moderation and centrism: Promoting the concepts of tolerance and rejecting extremism and fanaticism, and consolidating intellectual security.
- Glorifying the Holy City: Reminding people of the sanctity of Mecca and the proper etiquette for being in it.
- Transactions and Etiquette: It deals with the behavioral aspects and legitimate transactions that a Muslim needs.
Vision context and the Kingdom's efforts
These efforts align with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes serving pilgrims. The Kingdom seeks not only to increase the capacity for Umrah pilgrims but also to enhance the quality of their religious and cultural experience. Religious awareness is a fundamental pillar of this experience, ensuring that pilgrims can perform their rituals with peace of mind and knowledge, thus reflecting the Kingdom's positive image in serving Islam and Muslims.
Ongoing supervision and monitoring
These programs receive close monitoring and direct guidance from His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, who consistently emphasizes the need to dedicate all resources to serving pilgrims. Through this integrated system, the Ministry aims to teach pilgrims how to perform their rituals according to the guidance of the Holy Quran and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, to instill sound Islamic beliefs in them, and to answer their religious inquiries, thus fulfilling the Kingdom's noble and lofty mission.
