The Minister of Interior performs the funeral prayer for Lieutenant General Saeed Al-Qahtani
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, performed the funeral prayer for His Excellency Lieutenant General Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani, Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations Affairs, after the afternoon prayer on Friday, at the King Khalid Mosque in Riyadh, amidst a large attendance of security leaders, officials and citizens.
Condolences from the wise leadership
Following the prayer, His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior conveyed the condolences of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister – may God protect them – to the family of the deceased, asking God Almighty to have mercy on him, grant him Paradise, and give his family patience and solace. The family of the deceased expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership and to His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior for their condolences during their profound loss.
A career full of security contributions
The passing of Lieutenant General Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani is a great loss to the nation's security establishment. The deceased dedicated decades of his life to serving his faith, his king, and his country, holding numerous sensitive and pivotal positions within the Ministry of Interior. He was known – may God have mercy on him – for his devotion and sincerity, his firmness in enforcing the law, and his active contribution to the development of the Kingdom's security apparatus.
The deceased served as Director of Public Security for many years, during which he led the security apparatus through critical and important phases, contributing to strengthening security and stability, and confronting various security challenges, including counter-terrorism efforts and organizing Hajj and Umrah seasons, before being appointed Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations, to continue his career in supervising strategic security plans and operations.

The prayer witnessed a remarkable turnout that reflected the status of the deceased, as His Highness the Minister of Interior was joined in prayer by a number of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, senior officials of the Ministry of Interior, both civilian and military, and leaders of various security sectors, in addition to a large gathering of citizens and admirers of the deceased who came to offer their condolences and pray for mercy and forgiveness for him.
