Minister of Information: 18 million Umrah pilgrims in 2025 and details of the charitable campaign

Saudi Minister of Media, Salman Al-Dossari, revealed a significant leap in the Hajj and Umrah sector, announcing that the number of pilgrims coming from abroad has grown to exceed 18 million by 2025. This came during the government press conference held on Monday, in the presence of the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, and the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail.

Record growth in line with the goals of Vision 2030

This historic achievement in the number of Umrah pilgrims comes as a direct result of the tireless efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the "Guests of God Service Program", one of the most important programs of Saudi Vision 2030. The great facilitations in visa procedures, the development of infrastructure in the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites, in addition to the digitization of services, have contributed to accommodating these increasing numbers and facilitating the journey of Umrah pilgrims from all parts of the world.

The National Campaign for Charitable Work: A Dedication to Institutional Giving

In a related development concerning humanitarian work, the Minister of Information announced the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the sixth edition of the "National Campaign for Charitable Work." Al-Dossari emphasized that humanitarian giving is a firmly established principle in the Kingdom's policy, highlighting Saudi Arabia's leading role regionally and internationally. He noted the launch of 48 humanitarian and development projects in Yemen, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting stability and development in the region.

Technology in the service of humanity: The role of "SDAIA" and the Ihsan platform

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, reviewed the pivotal role of data and artificial intelligence in enhancing the efficiency of charitable work. He explained how advanced technologies in the Ihsan platform have contributed to directing donations to their beneficiaries with complete transparency and reliability, thus strengthening donor trust and improving the quality of life for those in need. This technological integration underscores the Kingdom's success in harnessing digital transformation to serve the non-profit sector.

Regarding the housing sector, the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail, discussed the major transformation of the non-profit sector within the municipalities and housing system. He highlighted the effective partnerships that have contributed to providing sustainable housing solutions for the most vulnerable families, emphasizing that the integration of efforts between the government and non-profit sectors is a fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive social development.
